Volunteer Opportunities by Program
GEMS — Near-Peer Mentors & Teachers
Near-Peer Mentors (college students) work alongside teachers and Army research scientists to provide hands-on lab activities. Mentors receive a stipend.
Teachers supervise students and Near-Peer Mentors. Teachers receive a stipend based on experience level.
eCYBERMISSION — Team Advisors & Mission Mentors
Team Advisors assist student teams with registration and guide their Mission Folder submission. One Team Advisor is required per team.
Mission Mentors provide online assistance to teams via discussion forums and live chats.
Camp Invention — Leadership Interns
The National Inventors Hall of Fame offers a volunteer Leadership Intern program for high school and college level students. Participants get hands-on leadership experience, gain valuable communication skills and can earn up to 40 volunteer hours.
JSHS — Judges & Speakers
JSHS welcomes STEM professionals to judge student presentations at regional and national symposiums, and to deliver talks to inspire the next generation of researchers.
